The sun rises through the trees on my property and as I watch the process in the mornings, the light dances through the branches and trunks and seems to come alive with praise and rejoicing.
For this piece I started with a layer of burnt Sienna and painted the sky and light, or the negative space. The branches were created by painting the area surrounding them and it almost felt like stained glass. Painting this was like a glorious and satisfying meditation.
