I have several barred owls that live in the woods near my house. I love catching glimpses of their silent flight though the canopy and listening to their calls back and forth to each other. Last spring a family was nesting near where I sit and meditate in the woods by a stream and the mother owl would just sit up in the treetop staring at me. Owls symbolize wisdom, knowledge, change, transformation and death.
