It’s that time again! I’ve used up another journal, so I love painting the cover of a new one to personalize it. When I go through my old journals, it’s so fun to see the past covers and remember what was going on in my life while I was using it. There’s just something about journal keeping—I’m grateful for how it has helped me keep an attitude of gratitude over the years.

Actually, going through my journals from high school helped me realize what NOT to do when keeping a journal, ha! (Don’t complain on every page, don’t gossip, don’t complain about how fat you are…) It has helped me recognize the power of my thoughts and how I can impact the quality of my life through being purposeful with my thoughts.

Here are a couple things that I do in my journals that has helped me grow exponentially and feel so much happier in general:

-Write three things I’m thankful for today

-write three reasons today will be awesome

-write two positive affirmations about myself

-write notes for the classes and workshops I take

-take note of personal revelation I receive so I can refer to it later
